The twelve days of Skate

The Maloof are really in the news those days. They have a game on their website called "The 12 days of skate" and last Friday, Joe and Gavin Maloof, Steve Van Doren, along with Tony Alva (who signed t-shirts & posters for the kids), donated gift bags in time for the holidays for families and children at Community Build, a non-profit corporation dedicated to the revitalization of South Los Angeles communities through investment in youth. Hundreds of families lined up to receive 1,000 gift bags stuffed with skateboard clothing and accessories in time for the holidays.

Joe Maloof (Maloof Money Cup, Palms Casino Resort & Sacramento Kings) and Steve Van Doren (Vans) will be passing out another 1,000 gift bags to youth in Washington DC and New York before Christmas.
"We’re thrilled to have a partner like Vans who shares our commitment to giving back to our local communities", said Joe Maloof. "It feels great to gets gifts into these families’ hands right before the holidays. The turn out in L.A. was tremendous and we’re anxious to get to the East Coast!"

If you didn’t make it to a giveaway to get free gear, check out Maloof Skateboarding’s 12 Days of Skate — granting wishes while supporting local skate shops! In 150 words or less tell them why your skate shop is important and how it helps support the community. Also submit your wish list from the shop for a chance to have it fulfilled! One winner per day, for twelve days, will be picked and Maloof Skateboarding will award them their wish list from that shop! The contest ends Dec. 21.
