I Skate, Therefore I Am -Home- Yes! isTia skateboard blog talks about skateboarders, skaters, vert, ramp, skateparks, pool, backyard pools, kidney pool, pink motel, supreme skateboard, copying, skateboarding photography, skate rock, concrete disciples, daily skate news, Vans, Venice skatepark, skate spots and skateboard news. There are plenty of other skate websites that publish skateboard news faster than me, and better than me (Transworld, The Berrics, Thrasher, Slap magazine, skatedaily, crailtap, juice magazine, skate and annoy,…), so I won’t just give the skate news, I’ll also tell you what I think about it even if I’m wrong. Then you can conform and think like me too and impress your friends with your profound knowledge of the skateboarding industry. LOLThat’s official, Geoff Rowley will be the one to lead the course design in the 2011 Maloof Money Cup. Rowley, who currently resides in Long Beach began skating at the age of 13, and was first sponsored by Flip Skateboards (when it was based in the United Kingdom under the name Deathbox before the move to California) and is an original team member. Rowley was highly acclaimed for his SOTY nomination by Thrasher magazine in 2000.
Rowley appeared in the Tony Hawk video game franchise running from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater to Tony Hawk's Underground. He also made appearances on the MTV show Viva La Bam, and on the Liverpool band Short Sharp Shock's debut LP, providing backing vocals. He is one of the very few people to have a trick named after him, which is called the Rowley Darkslide.
I really respect the Maloofs and what they’ve accomplished with this contest,” said Rowley. “Out of all the contests out there, the Maloof Money Cup is the only one that really delivers on giving the skaters and fans what they are looking for.”This year, the Maloof Money Cup will expand to Kimberley, South Africa as well as at least one more U.S. city (to be announced soon). Rowley will lead the design team (pro skateboarders and experts) together with Joe Ciaglia from California Skateparks, whose company has built all four Maloof Money Cup courses since its beginning in 2008. Previous MMC street courses designed by Geoff Rowley were highly acclaimed and included replicas of iconic US and international skate spots, from Hollywood High and the Brooklyn Banks to the Santa Monica Pier and Barcelona ledges. “Building professional skate parks and leaving them to the communities is something that is so needed right now and the Maloofs are the only ones doing this, starting with the course we did in Queens, New York for one of the stops of the 2010 Maloof Money Cup,” said Rowley. “To be a part of something that gives back to kids, invigorates communities and spreads a positive word for skateboarding made this an easy decision for me to make, plus it is pretty damn fun designing your dream skate spot and watching it come to life.”
