Grosso is a Antihero? Uh?

So, are you sure vert is back big time? According to the guys at Antihero, the answer is yes. Big Time.

Jeff Grosso is now officially a Antihero. Photo Steve Potwin at Lake Cunnigham.
The Antihero team has recentlyI Skate, Therefore I Am -Home- Yes! isTia skateboard blog talks about skateboarders, skaters, vert, ramp, skateparks, pool, backyard pools, kidney pool, pink motel, supreme skateboard, copying, skateboarding photography, skate rock, concrete disciples, daily skate news, Vans, Venice skatepark, skate spots and skateboard news. There are plenty of other skate websites that publish skateboard news faster than me, and better than me (Transworld, The Berrics, Thrasher, Slap magazine, skatedaily, crailtap, juice magazine, skate and annoy,…), so I won’t just give the skate news, I’ll also tell you what I think about it even if I’m wrong. Then you can conform and think like me too and impress your friends with your profound knowledge of the skateboarding industry. LOL
designed and released a new board for Jeff Grosso. Jeff is a antihero himself: he was only a pro for four years, from 1986 to 1990 and then street skating took it all away. That upswing only lasted a few years and then it dropped off. So he went from fame to drugs to zero to Hell to rehab to floor covering and eventually to being again one of the top pool riders of 2011. Now, Jeff is the king of the Protec Pool Party board slide. That slide was not only the longest, but also the more powerful and the more perfect of all. Grosso is a freight train on a skateboard. And If you know the combi, you know that even a 10 block slide looks sick, so when he reached the two third of the pool (28 blocks slide) at the Blocks For Bucks contest of the Protec Pool Party in 2010, everyone went wild. Jeff won $2000 for this slide which was worth every penny. Over the years, Grosso has been sponsored by Vari-flex Skateboards with Allen Losi, Eddie Elguera, Eric Grisham, the Hersh Brothers, Lance Mountain and John Lucero. His second sponsor was Santa Cruz, then he quit Santa Cruz to skate for Powell, but Powell was too “pansy ass”, in his own words. Then he turned pro for Schmitt Stix, then went back to Santa Cruz but then got kicked off Santa Cruz and then Lucero started Black Label and he rode for John Lucero's Black Label Skateboards, the “finest skateboard company in the business”.

For those who missed it, Jeff Grosso was also a feature topic two weeks ago at the Chrome Ball Incident. Now that he is back to business Jokers skate shop is throwing a party for the release of his debut board on Antihero. So if you are around Huntington Beach this Saturday January 23rd, come by Joker's Skate shop and you might even get the Jokers-Antihero collab deck. Only 30 were made…

Grosso is one of my favorites, but I don't see him in enough pools to be called a top pool rider. Made-to-skate terrain, yes.
