Jeff Grosso’s Love Letter starts with memories of Steve Olson

I like a lot Jeff Grosso. I’m not sure what are the reasons why other people like Jeff that much. Apart that he is good at what he is doing in skateboarding, of course. I was reading a blog from Chris Nieratkos saying that: ”I’m stoked he was able to come out the other side in one piece”. He was referring to Jeff’s murky past after Santa Cruz, when the “death” of vert also killed a lot of us and sent Jeff working at gloomy factories and spending most of his time experiencing all kind of new “highs” with doubtable substances, as succedanea for aerials, I guess… Other people can certainly relate to Jeff Grosso’s experience for a lot of different reasons, one of them being the part when he is coming out of the dark side and the force with which he has been able to regain his prominence as a “Master”.

“I” like Grosso because “I” was stocked he let me skate in “his” pool, the Combi at Vans, while he was training for the Protec Pool Party last year. Not that the others wouldn’t let me in, but Jeff always gave me my turn, insisting that I drop before him. With such chivalry in his blood, in another century, he would have been a master knight, for sure.
That’s definitely a lot of respect I have for him. Jeff Grosso has been back into action for some time now. At 42 years old, he is possibly skating better than he ever has in life. He just got a pro model on Anti Hero Skateboards, has a Legends Pack of Vans coming out this month and he is travelling around the world going to places as far as Brazil and Australia (where he will be next week for the Bondi-Vans Bowl-A-Rama), sometimes with Hosoi, another brother that made it back from the dark side. And he has this brand new show on the internet where he joins another anti-hero: Steve Olson. That makes a lot of upbeat shift for an old junkie.

Chris Nieratkos says that Jeff Grosso’s Love Letters To Skateboarding "might be the best show on the internet ever (assuming you love skateboarding)”. I would not doubt of this and take advantage of the video above to really see what’s going on with him…
