The Cliché momentum:

Life is full of ups and down. One day you are down, the next day you are up. However, it seems that Cliché is not following that pattern. As a Resume, since they were acquired by Dwindle on Jul 28, 2009, it seems they went up-up-up and not down. So we have a nice Cliché momentum with an apex at this very moment: Jeremie Daclin must be proud of his team, his guys are everywhere, even in Hawaii.

1) First of all, there is a L.A. Cliché Promo that was filmed in 2009 and 2010 in Lyon and L.A. by master filmer and editor French Fred Mortagne. Featuring Andrew Brophy, Javier Mendizabal, Joey Brezinski, Lucas Puig, JB Gillet, Jeremie Daclin, Charles Collet, Flo Mirtain, Sammy Winter, Richardo Fonseca, and upstart Daniel Espinoza, it’s one of the finest Cliché releases to date. http://www.frenchfred.com/

2) Interview with Cliché: when they came to L.A. in 2010 to shoot their video, isTia was there with a mike and a camera. Despite numerous attempts to go with the team, isTia was not allowed to the set. Forbidden!!! Maybe it was too rad for our eyes, or too secret or maybe they had some secret deals with powerful skateboard magazines. We found out 6 months later that actually, they did had a secret deal with a powerful skateboard magazine... Business is king and isTia is weak as fuck… Anyway.
We eventually met them on the Miracle Mile when they promoted their book and got those words from them… See, finally we are not rancorous.

3) Then, there is this French Fred directed Brophy commercial that was realized a while back, but who cares. Cliché Pro Andrew Brophy is some kind of rare form of human being.
His giant stature, ungodly pop and Australian accent lead me to believe that he stems from a long lineage of fearsome warriors.

4) If you haven’t seen any of the Gypsy Tours that Cliché does then you are missing out on some super rad videos. 14 days, 10 riders, 1 guest rider, 10 euros a day for food, 3 cameras, zero hotels, and no set plan!?!? Insane! Sounds like fun, right? Well check out the 2nd Gypsy Tour video brought to you by Cliché.

5)Jeremie Daclin is a legendary French pro and a highly respected rider from Lyon. He had a skateboard shop in the late 80’s, was friend with the Gonz before you were born and has been around the skateboarding business longer than most of you wood pushers have been alive. And if you’ve ever caught a glimpse of his part in New Deal’s classic video 1281, you’ll know just how long the man’s been doing it. Hell yes,Jeremie started Cliché Skateboards from scratch. And in conjunction with running the brands day to day workings through the years, he’s been consistently killing it as one of the companies pro riders. Jeremie has put out some of the most creative and fun to watch parts in history, and here’s one of them. Have a look at Dan Wolfe’s remix edit of Jeremie’s Cliché Déjà Vu part. Full-force, big guy steez…attacking everything in his path. This is how it’s done. Also check out Jeremie Daclin’s interview with isTia in 2009, you will learn more about where Cliché is coming from…

6) Don't dream anumore of a Cliché skate tool, Mabassi just did it! Mabasi Lab is a Swiss company that has emerged from a challenging project : the conception, design and construction of the streetcourse for the Lausanne GP02 contest.

Since then, Mabasi has orientated its research and development towards skateboard products, especially tools. Mabasi Lab is also the proud owner of its own screenprint workshop, located in Champagne/Switzerland.

That company is right on time.

7) Cliché Eastern Hide & Seek Tour. Cliché tour the East Coast of the US with Lucas Puig, Daniel Espinoza, JB Gillet, Jeremie Daclin, Joey Brezinski and Flo Mirtain doing the ripping. Filming and edit by Mikendo. Be sure to check out the COLD AS HELL article (featuring the words and photos of Giovanni Reda) in issue 88 of Kingpin Magazine.

Nice Cliche!
