Grosso: Blocks For Bucks video / Pro-Tec Pool Party 2010

While the Vans Pro-Tec pool party is coming up in 3 days, Jeff Grosso has still time to sit down with Salba and talk about the Upland Pipeline and original Combi bowl on his last LoveLetters to Skateboarding. At the Pro-Tec Pool Party 2010, Jeff Grosso became the king of the board slide when he covered about 75% of the round side of the Combi pool. That slide was not only the longest, but also the more powerful and the more perfect of all. Grosso is a freight train on a skateboard and If you have skated the Combi, you know that even a 10 block slide is sick, so when he reached the two third of the pool (28 blocks slide) at the Blocks For Bucks contest of the Protec Pool Party, everyone went wild. Jeff pocketed $2000 for this slide which was worth every penny.

I was stocked to see Grosso did what he do even if I was there when he was rehearsing again and again the move prior to the Pro-Tec. Then, I jumped in the bleachers right when the slide contest started and damned myself for not being on the deck at that very moment… I wanted to shoot all of Grosso’s run (i.e. from the drop) so I tried to return to the deck. But it was too late, Grosso had already dropped!!! I started shooting the video when there was nothing to see, just hoping for the best. After a faction of a second, Grosso arrived at full speed, faster than a bullet, jumped on the coping and did the longest slide of all. Eventually, the bleacher happened to be the best places of all to shoot the slide. Funny after all, I was at the right place at the right time…

Watch the video of Grosso below and replay it over and over…
