Shaun White wins X Games Skateboard Vert

White won gold in Skateboard Vert, giving him five Summer X Games medals and 20 total X Games medals (he holds the record for Winter X Games medals) to go with his two Olympic golds. And White's career isn't nearly over yet.
Shaun White laid down an unforgettable performance on the vert pipe to win Gold at the X-Games on Saturday. The "Flying Tomato" defeated Pierre Luc Gagnon, who had won the competition in 2008, '09, and '10.

Of course, it wasn't much of a competition. Shaun blew away the competition with a series of high-flying tricks that set him well above the rest of the skaters. His final run on the half-pipe landed him a score of 93.00 while Gagnon followed White with an anti-climactic fall on his first trick that ended the competition.

White's run include a backside 360 that led into a deceptively easy-looking 720. He put the cherry on top of this impressive outing by landing a heelflip body varial frontside 540 that put the crowd on their feet. Check out the pictures and video above.
