Over this past weekend (October 15, 2011), 12yr old vert phenom, Tom Schaar landed a 900º on the Mega Ramp at Woodward West, making him the youngest to do so, ever.

Only 7 people have ever landed a 900 on a skateboard. The 7th and newest member is 12 12 year old Tom Schaar , following 14 year old Mitchie Brusco who joined the 900 club with Eliot Sloan, Tony Hawk, Bob Burnquist, Georgio Zatoni, Sandro Dias and Alex Perelson. Two of the 7 people to ever do the 900 are under 15 now. Eliot Sloan stuck a tailgrab 900 on a MiniMega ramp in South Africa during the Maloof Money Cup South Africa event on October 2, 2011Tom Schaar is the third skater ever to land the 900 off the MegaRamp, Bob Burnquist being the other who landed the 900 in September last year. At 12 years old, Schaar is two years younger than 14-year-old Mitchie Brusco who also stuck a MegaRamp 900 earlier this year. Schaar is the eighth person in history to land the move.

Tom Schaar is a Californian native and amateur on regular stance. He is a regular of Camp Woodward West. When he was nine he had a role on the Disney XD's show, Next X. The show was filmed at Camp Woodward West and Schaar was in at least six episodes. Tom Schaar has been riding for Half Pint Skateboards, Pro-Tec Helmets and Skatelabs. Schaar's competitive record started around the same time as his Disney role. In 2008 he competed in the Tampa Am in the Vert Qualifiers. In 2009 he skipped the Tampa Am and entered the Maloof Money Cup Amateur Competition. In 2010, Schaar was back competing at the Tampa Am taking 14th in the Vert Qualifiers. He returned to the competition again this year and placed 11th in the Vert Qualifiers.
