Neal Hendrix is the newest skater to jump on board the Elephant Brand, it was announced this morning through Elephant brands kateboards website. The brand was launched a couple of months ago by Mike Vallely after a kerfuffle with Powell-Peralta.

Neal Hendrix, a beacon of vert skateboarding, was born May 12, 1973 in in Lewisville, North Carolina, and started skating backyards and parks across the mid-Atlantic in 1986. In 1991 he turned pro for New Deal and two years later moved to Costa Mesa in southern California, where he still lives today.

Neil Hendrix career highlights’ include five X Games medals, earning titles in 2005 at the Skatepark of Tampa Pro Vert Contest and Shanghai Showdown, ranking 2nd in the 2007 World Cup of Skateboarding Vert World Rankings, 11 years skating on the Vans Warped Tour, and skating with Tony Hawk’s Boom Boom Huckjam. In 1996, Hendrix skated in the Olympic Games closing ceremonies in Atlanta, Georgia.
In addition to skateboarding, Neal Hendrix has been a reporter for Fuel TV’s “The Weekly Update”. Neal has been the previous skate director at Camp Woodward West in Tehachapi, CA and Woodward brand manager.

Neil Hendrix got his start with ramps and vert at the end of the 80's when everyone else was switching to street. Even though vert skateboarding was into the doldrums for a couple of decades, he never quit.

Hendrix's current sponsors include: Elephant Skateboards, Vans shoes, Type-S Wheels, Triple 8 Helmets, 187 Pads, and Brixton.
