It’s just another contest!" Pedro Barros interview with isTia.Tv April 2012
Pedro Barros: winner of the Pro-Tec Pool Party 2012

Defending 2011 Pro-Tec and 2011 X Games Park champ, Pedro Barros came on the scene a few years ago and has blazed a path of destruction in the world of skateboarding ever since. In 2012, he virtually won all the contests he entered. In his hometown of Florianopolis, Brazil, he trains in his own backyard bowl and vert ramp. At 17, Barros is years ahead of his time and is just now coming into his own.

In an interview with isTia.Tv, we asked Pedro Barros about winning the Pro-Tec Pool Party and he said: “if I win it’s going to be fucking great, but if not, it’s totally ok! I won before and that was my dream, now whatever happens its good! I just don’t wanna get hurt! The Combi is the gnarliest contest of all! Put easy to get hurt! There are so many guys that can win. Nolan, Alex, Rune, Bucky, Omar, Josh, Bob, every one of these guys can win! So, nobody is pushing me! They wanna see me winning, but this is more about friendship than anything else!” Well, when the dust settled on Saturday and the scores were tallied, Barros was the one who edged out Rune Glifberg and Bucky Lasek to take top honors and walk away with the $28,000 check.
