Pedro Barros is a 16-year-old bowl destroyer from Florianopolis Brazil. He is as aggressive in the pools as in his behaving: his motto is RTMF, which stands for Rio Tavares Mother Fucker. Rio Tavares being the place where Pedro Barros lives, the home to some of the best bowl skaters and surfers in all of Brazil, including a sick pool and vert ramp in his backyard. Florianopolis also happens to be one of the best surf and bowl spots in Brazil.

Contrary to popular thinking, Pedro Barros is not a contest rat, training every day to land #1 in contests around the world. It turns out that it’s exactly the contrary. Even if Pedro Barros is the #1 World Cup Skateboarding (WCS) champ, he aims more at fun

than fame. He is the best bowl skater in the world but for him, surfing is as important as skateboarding.

I met with Pedro Barros a couple of days ago and when I asked him if he was to win again the Pro-tec Pool Party 2012, he said that he considered the Pro-tec “more about friendship than anything else!” and that: “if I win it’s going to be fucking great, but if not, it’s totally ok! I won before and that was my dream, now whatever happens it’s good! I just don’t wanna get hurt! The Combi is the gnarliest contest of all!” but he also added that the Pro-Tec Pool Party is :’”The most prestigious contest.

So, if Pedro Barros is not about to win the Pro-Tec Pool Party 2012, who’s gonna win?: “There are so many guys that can win.” Said Pedro, “ Nolan Munroe, Alex Sorgente, Rune Glifberg, Bucky Lasek, Omar Hassan, Josh, Bob, every one of these guys can win!

Spending more than 70 days in the U.S. each year, Pedro already considers CA his second home. Every time he's traveling, it's always with a crew of friends to make it easier to be away from home. When he’s not traveling he surfs and skates daily with the RTMF crew, usually ending the day with crazy BBQ’s and jam sessions in the poolside music studio.

Pedro won most of the biggest bowl contests around the world, but for him the best moments of life aren't when his name is called for the first spot on the podium, but when he's out skating with friends.
Names like Lincoln Ueda, Bob Burnquist, Rune Glifberg, Omar Hassan, Alex Perelson inspire Pedro to skate the way he does, but it's Leo Kakinho, Marcelos Kosake, Rodolfo Ramos that really showed him the way.

Pedro skates with a speed and style all his own. He is already a dominant force in any pool or park contest, with multiple 1st places including Pro-Tec Pool Party & X Super Park. You can always expect to see Pedro in the mix, skating Pools, Vert, Street, Mega Ramp, or mini ramp, he has the skills to kills it all!
