Electric Blue Heaven: Surfing In The Desert

The sheik’s son wanted to surf, so the sheik built him a wave. In the middle of the desert in the United Arab Emirates, Dion Agius and Joe G find a chlorinated oasis. Dion punts its neon sections while Russian models swoon.

Electric Blue Heaven: Surfing In The Desert

Can you imagine a skateboard company bigger than Powell or Vision in the 80’s, or bigger than World Industries in the 90’s, bigger than Deluxe, Birdhouse and Sector 9 in the 00’s? That’s Globe. One year ago, I was introduced to the concept of the Banana borad revival and immediately said “it’s not gonna work”. But when Product Development came back with flashy neon colors, top notch wheels and real trucks, I said, “that’s a winner”… Well, the guys at Globe found a winner with the Bantam, the largest selling skateboard in 2012, or so the rumor has it.

Globe and Bantam are also well known for floating skateboarding videos full of sun, spirit and babes. So, after their huge success in the skateboarding industry, they decided to go surfing gor a while. After all, the company is located just minutes away from the beach… But they did not go surfing on the Pacific Ocean, but in the desert in the Emirates where a son’s sheik was so bored that he asked his ruling father to build a surfing pool in the desert. Why not? We build skateboarding pools in the desert too…

And then, there’s the Lamborghinis…
And then, there are the Russian girls, a Bantam specialty...
