Raven Tershy out of X Games Park

Raven Tershy give up the X Games Park

One bad new never comes alone. First it was Bob Bunrquist who slammed on the coping of the Big Ramp, then it was Pedros Barros falling on stairs during training, it is now Raven Tershy, the 2011 Skateboard Park gold medalist, who just got hurt.

Raven Tershy told on Friday that he recently rolled his ankle and will not be competing in Saturday's X Games final in Los Angeles. Tershy's not known as a contest skater but made a big X Games debut last year, beating out Pedro Barros and Ben Hatchell to take the podium as a follow-up to his win at the 2011 Copenhagen Pro.

Last year, X Games rookie Raven Tershy won the Skateboard Park finals on opening night of X Games 17, beating out 2010 champ Pedro Barros and newcomer Ben Hatchell for the top spot in a tight fight for the podium.

This year he's been more focused on filming for the forthcoming Chocolate Skateboards video "Pretty Sweet," due out in October, and says he's skipping X Games to heal up for a trip to Spain filming with the Chocolate team later this month.
