|How Luan Oliveira Won the 2012 Maloof Money Cup in South Africa|
Over the week-end, the spectators in Kimberley were treated to some amazing skateboarding, justifying why they bared it outside in blistering the sun for the entire day to watch the second Maloof Money Cup in South Africa.
The morning started with practice on both the street course and the mini-mega ramp whetting the appetite of the crowd for world class skateboarding.
The Maloof Money Cup Street World Championship semi-finals started at 1pm with some of the world’s top pro skateboarders showing what they are made of.
The top 12 of the street qualifiers took part in the final in the afternoon.
The line up included Luan Oliviera, Ryan Decenzo, Felipe Gustavo, Manny Santiago, Andrew Reynolds, Tommy Fynn (home grown) and Dlamini Dlamini from South Africa.
South African Moses Adams improved on his performance of last year but still only managing 17th position, but when looking at the skaters that ended behind him he can truly hold his head high.
Even with a few significant exclusions from the pro line up including last year’s winner Ishod Wair, the level of skateboarding was definitely higher than last year, for both the qualifiers for the pro street and vert finals setting an exciting stage for the final day.
