International Skateboard Film Festival 2012

International Skateboard Film Festival 2012 set to take place in in Los Angeles on December 6-8th.

The Academy of Skateboard Filmmakers, Arts & Science (ASF) has announced that due to popular request, the submission deadline for the 2012 International Skateboard Film Festival (ISFF) has been extended to midnight PST Friday, October 5,2012. Categories for the competition are: Best Brand, Best Director, Best Documentary, Best Independent & Emerging, Best Short, Best Skate Shop Video, Best Soundtrack and Best Web Solo. Honorary awards will also be given by the Academy in the categories of Photography, Editing, Original Screenplay and Classic. The International Skateboard Film Festival is open to all skateboard film productions from around the world. Films are nominated into 8 distinctive categories and winners will be announced during an invitation-only award ceremony on the last day of the Festival. Film screenings, which are open to the public, will be held December 6-8, 2012 in downtown Los
Angeles. The 2011 festival received more than 80 submissions from 19 countries. Winning films have included “In Search of the Miraculous” (2011, Sweden), “Altered Focus: Burma” (2010, England) and “Stay Gold” (2011, USA).

Dubbed the “Oscars of Skateboarding” by Color magazine, the International Skateboard Film
Festival is steadily gaining momentum as the premier film festival to recognize the
achievements of skateboard filmmakers across the globe. This year’s festival will be coming
off the heels of the European debut of the International Skateboard Film Festival in Biarritz,
