Vans and Jack’s Garage cordially invite you to the Vans “Off the Wall” Skatepark ground breaking ceremony next week at the corner of Gothard Street and Center Ave in Huntington Beach, California. This gathering will take place on Thursday, December 13th at 11am.

Vans and Jack’s Garage look forward to thanking the City of Huntington Beach and cementing their commitment to skateboarding with a long overdue and brand new community skatepark in its city limits. Expected speakers include representatives from Vans, Jack’s Garage, California Skateparks and the City Council of Huntington Beach.
Interviews and photo opportunities will be available following the ceremony.

The Vans Skatepark at the Huntington Beach location is only the Vans' second Vans skate park in the USA after the company closed one skatepark in Florida in January 2012.

Vans' indoor skate park at the Block at Orange opened in 1998. In 2008 The Block underwent a major renovation to revamp the combi pool which is the beacon of Van’s vert legacy throughout the world. Modeled after Upland, the combi bowl was not aging well, so Steve Van Doren, Jeff Grosso and Lance Mountain decided to resurface it entirely.

The combi pool is 12 feet deep and is hosting major contests several times a year including the Amateur Combi Pool Party in january and the legendary Protec Pool Party next May . It hosted the GirlsPool Party every November.

The Block location has a 20,000-square-foot indoor street course that includes stairs, rails and ledges and is mainly a street course even if it features the Combi pool and a mini ramp. By building a 15,000-square-foot elevated skate bowl area, Vans would show its commitment to vert and pool riding, not just mainstream skateboarding. As we already said, going off the wall and back to our roots is the way to go.
